WELCOME BACK

We have had a fantastic start to 2016 and I am pleased with the progress made by all students, even with the heat that we're experiencing at present. Primarily, the first couple of weeks have been (and are) about setting standards, establishing routines and revising previous concepts and skills. By next week we will be increasing the pace and depth of content. It is very pleasing to see so many students accessing and completing the 'Motivational Work.' Additionally, a large number of students have gone about completing tasks on Study Ladder as well as Literacy Pro. Even though we started Literacy Pro yesterday, the students of Room 17 have read just over 400,000 words!!! Yes, that is nearly half a million words in just one day! Keep up the fantastic effort, Room 17.

Aussie Day: Friday, 12th February (this Friday) is Aussie Day at Wattle Grove. Children can come dressed in 'Aussie' style clothes. Please, no thongs, singlets, vests etc. Appropriate footwear and shirts are expected. A gold coin donation is encouraged with all money raised going towards the Yarloop Bush fire Appeal.
